Almost Time

Steph and I went to her 37 week appointment on Tuesday. Everything looked good. However, she measured at 39 weeks! Given that she was measuring ahead and that we were both good sized babies, the doctor decided that Steph should get another sonagram to get their measurement of baby-girl's progress. If baby-girl is on track to being a 10-pounder by the time her due date arrives, our doctor will want to induce to guard against the possibility of Steph requiring a C-Section.

So, Wednesday we went to Washington Radiologists to get a look at our baby girl. We got another look at her from a bunch of angles (she definitely has my lips, by the way). The technician took a bunch of measurements of baby-girl and they determined her weight was 7lbs. 12 oz. This method has a margin of error of plus or minus almost a pound, which means baby-girl's weight is somewhere between 7lb. and 9lb. Well, babies gain around a pound a week at this stage, so next week here weight will be between 8lb. and 10lb. What this means is that Steph will be induced sometime next week if baby-girl doesn't come on her own before hand!

The time is almost here for us to meet our daughter. We are very excited, but admittedly a bit nervous about the whole process. I know Steph is going to do great though. She's going to be such an amazing mother. Well, wish us luck and a speedy delivery!
